About Me

I’m a UX/UI designer focused on creating thoughtful, user-centred digital experiences that balance business goals with real user needs. My approach is grounded in understanding people first, what they need, where they struggle, and how design can make things simpler, clearer, and more meaningful.

Academics

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Technologies (2023) and an Honours degree in Visual Communication, specialising in UX design from Open Window Institute (2024), where I was awarded a Pangolin Award for the most successful Honours project, Layera 2024. This foundation shaped my approach to design, combining strategic thinking with a strong focus on user behaviour and experience.

Experience

For 15 months, I played a key role in the redesign of a Broker Portal for Old Mutual Insure, one of South Africa’s leading insurance providers. Working within Agile teams, I collaborated closely with developers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver over 200 screens and 20+ user journeys across a complex, multi-functional platform. I worked alongside other designers, contributing to core user journeys and interface consistency, and supported the design handoff to development to ensure alignment between design intent and implementation

I served as the face for the digital design team in stakeholder engagements, leading presentations and demos and translating complex UX decisions into clear, business-focused narratives. I worked closely with my team to address stakeholder questions and ensure accurate, well-informed responses, maintaining strong alignment across design, business, and development.

Additionally, I contributed to the design of a commercial quoting portal for Specialty lines of insurance, extending the platform’s capability for specialist broker workflows.

Approach

I work across the full design process, from discovery and research through to interaction design, prototyping, and usability testing. My process follows a user-centred design methodology: starting with empathy, defining clear problems, exploring ideas, and continuously testing and refining solutions.

Using Figma, I design scalable systems and intuitive interfaces, maintaining consistency across complex platforms while navigating stakeholder and business requirements.
