The challenge was to design an application that would help members of the LARPing community have better access to events and LARPing gatherings, using gamification elements to make it fun and engaging and creating a concept called Vision.

INTRODUCING
A 25-year-old, Jamie is a dreamer and imaginer who loves to cosplay. However, Jamie lives in a small town in George, where no LARPing community exists. This makes it difficult for her to attend events or find like-minded people to share her hobby with. Jamie is heartbroken and feels alone, as her friends are not interested in LARPing.
"When I first discovered LARPing, I was immediately drawn to its ability to transport me to another world. I love the feeling of stepping into a character and becoming part of a story. "

She lives in a small town where there is no LARPing community. This makes it difficult for her to attend events or find like-minded people to share her hobby with.

Her friends are not interested in LARPing either. This means that she has no one to share her hobby with locally.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Jamie is a 25-year-old LARPer who wants to find LARPing events near her. She loves meeting new people and making new friends through LARPing and wants to host her events.

MY DESIGN PROCESS
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
RESEARCH!
Diving into the world of South African LARPers, I uncovered some of the most brutal battles they face: loneliness, far-flung locations, and a lack of knowledge of each other. As I delved into their minds, I gained a whole new level of insight.
INSIGHTS GAINED
From interviewing and researching the LARPers the main issue they faced was LARPers' geographical location. Many LARPing events occur in the Johannesburg region more than anywhere else.
GAMIFICATION
To incorporate the gamification aspect into the application, I studied the various archetypes of game players.

According to my research, Jamie falls under the Socializer Archetype – someone who enjoys socializing and finds fulfilment in achieving goals as a team or engaging with others. This will build the main foundation of Vison.

BREAKDOWN
To match Jamie's player type, Vision has "Nobility Points," letting forum members earn knighthood through active and social participation. The grand reward? Being knighted and featured on the host's page.
Vision's forums also have a trusty lineup with the introduction of the "Prestige Badge" system. Hosts earn this badge on their profile by hosting successful events and maintaining active engagement. It's the emblem of a reliable forum host.
STYLISTIC INSPIRATION
Immersing myself in the worlds of quests and card games, I unleashed my creativity in designing the app. Every detail, from buttons reminiscent of medieval tapestries to enchanting language, was crafted to whisk users away to a realm of wonder and adventure.

I’ve incorporated a range of stylistic choices to immerse Jamie in a world beyond her own.

Jamie has been using the app for some time, and every time she opens it, she's captivated by the vision eye, which inspires her to explore the app's vast potential.

Jamie will see the option to sign up or log in if she decides to log in, as she has used the app before..
As she waits for the app to load, she can peruse its features and capabilities, amplifying her anticipation.
JAMIE'S FEED
Jamie browses her feed, which is tailored to her location. She could now see all the upcoming events in her area and join any interested her. The prospect of all these opportunities thrilled her and made her eager to participate.
EVENT DETALS
Jamie has discovered an event that caught her interest! She has joined the event, and she can't wait to see what this community has to offer! She can also share this event with her other LARPer friends who may want to join.
SHARE AND RATE EVENTS
After attending an event, Jamie can give her feedback and rating, earning her valuable nobility points. She can then redeem these points to join the hosts' Nobility Ranks.

Jamie has the option to rate and view the profile of the host after attending an event. The host's profile showcases their most active follower, as well as their past and upcoming events.
Jamie has the ability to join chat rooms from other user forums. Additionally, she can view the rules.

Achieving Nobility Ranks by interacting with other users' profiles and engaging in event sharing and liking is a possibility for Jamie. Additionally, she can also chat directly with the host if she has any queries.

Jamie owns a dedicated page referred to as a Forum. This platform allows her to showcase current and past events, as well as have her own roundtables.

Jamie can create events, edit her profile, and view her forum's prestige levels based on the performance of her events. The number of likes, shares and profile activity of her events will reflect in the forum's prestige levels and increase her trustworthiness as an event holder in the eyes of her followers.

Jamie has notifications based on chats and new followers and can access her settings

Every week, the bravest warriors are knighted and rewarded for valour, weaving the quest for social connectivity into a game of epic proportions. With Vision's power, immerse yourself in a world of wonder where you can embrace your most authentic self and revel in the art of interactive storytelling.
